Strategy

Trade finance, secured by physical control of the collateral.

The fund finances the gap between paying the supplier and being repaid by the borrower. The cargo itself is the collateral, and physical control and ownership of it stay with the fund until the final payment clears.

  • Capital efficiency

Short-duration capital deployed only into commodity credit. Each loan follows one trade cycle, so capital is repaid and redeployed several times a year.

  • Physical control

The fund owns and controls the cargo throughout, with monitored warehousing, embedded hedging and a network of buyers ready to take the goods if a borrower defaults.

  • Risk containment

Every trade is continuously monitored, with layered mitigants: over-collateralisation, commodity price monitoring, independent surveyors, insurance and alternative buyers for the collateral.

  • Yield conversion

Collateral-backed yields, delivered to investors as net returns after credit costs. The full economics are set out in the fund documents.

How a deal works

Every journey, accounted for.

Each loan finances one physical trade. The fund buys the cargo, keeps it sealed under its control through the voyage, and releases it only when the borrower has repaid.

Film: one trade from Rotterdam to Singapore. The borrower pays a cash deposit first; the fund checks the trade, pays the supplier and takes the Bill of Lading; the container is tracked across the voyage, held in a bonded yard in Singapore, and released only after the borrower has repaid. Subtitles describe each step.

How Traxo works

From first call to final payment.

Six stages take every trade from origination to repayment. The operating team originates, structures and monitors each trade; the fund underwrites it, deploys the capital and is repaid.

  1. 01Operating team

    Origination

Client onboarding, trade validation and an initial credit assessment.

  2. 02Operating team

    Structuring

Tenor, margin buffers and collateral documents are set around the specific cargo.

  3. 03The fund

    Underwriting

The investment committee assesses default and loss risk, checks the fund’s exposure and approves every transaction.

  4. 04The fund

    Deployment

The fund pays the supplier directly, and only after the borrower’s deposit has been received.

  5. 05Operating team

    Monitoring

Shipment tracking, invoice reconciliation and early-warning checks for the life of the trade.

  6. 06The fund

    Repayment

The borrower repays the fund in full, and only then are the goods released.

On the ground

Collateral you can stand next to.

Every loan is secured by goods that exist in a port, on a vessel or in a monitored warehouse. The fund finances only what can be inspected, insured and tracked.
